Famous International photographer and artist Lewis Morley was our keynote speaker for April. His address was fascinating as he detailed his experience photographing the stars of the London west end stage and cinema world.
He moved to Australia and continued as a professional photographer for fashion and advertising clients.
Towards the end of his career he held exhibitions of his work at the National Portrait Gallery, London, The National Portrait Gallery, Canberra, and the State Library of NSW.
His most famous photo was one of Christine Keeler sitting naked on a contemporary chair at the height of the John Profumo scandal that rocked the British government.
Our Clubs program continues with many interesting and varied speakers. John Swainston from Nikon Australia presented the latest Nikon D2X digital camera for members to handle. His address on photography and photographic equipment today and in the future was most enlightening.
Other trade speakers from Canon, Epson, Adobe Photoshop and Fletcher Photographics are scheduled for this year.
Monthly photo competitions for colour and monochrome prints, transparencies and digital image projection continue to attract many entries of high quality. The digital imaging competitions have grown substantially this year.
The club is arranging training nights for photographers new to the digital medium as well as experienced people wishing to enhance their skills.
Many of our members submit entries to National and International competitions. One of our most skilled members, David Miller, added to his International success with two gold and one bronze medal awarded to him at the Austrian International Exhibition. He also won the state of NSW "Topshot" competition.

Members and guests of St George Leagues Club are welcome at meetings held on most Thursday nights at 8pm in the Prince Edward rooms.
