| DIGITAL IMAGING COMPETITIONS |
| |
A maximum of three (3) entries may be entered in each competition. Files may be submitted by USB drive or Compact Disk and must be submitted in the following format:
1. The image will have a maximum dimension of 1024 pixels (wide) x 768 pixels (high) with a suggested resolution of 72 dpi.
2. The image should then be saved as a RGB JPEG file with a maximum file size of 220KB and named using the following convention.
Entry number 1, 2 or 3 followed by your Name (note capitals for first letter of each name), underscore then the Title (note capital letter for each first letter) in the following case and format. E.g. 2JoeBloggs_ScenicView.jpg (Non-compliant files will not be accepted for entry).
In order to achieve the above, the following procedure helps prepare the images for competition: (this is the procedure when using Photoshop 7 - other programs are similar).
1. Open Photoshop
(MODE: Image must be RGB Colour, 8 bits/Channel)
Therefore: 2. From Menu Bar select: <Image>, <Mode>(tick) RGB Colour
3. And, if necessary select: <Image>, <Mode>, 8 Bits/Channel
(Image SIZE: Image must be 1024 pixels x 768 pixels at 72 pixels/inch)
Therefore: 4. From Menu Bar select: < Image>, <Image Size>. A window called "Image Size" pops up, (tick) "Constrain Proportions", then For "Resolution" <enter 72> when set at pixels/inch <enter 1024> for "Width" when set at pixels (or 768 for "Height" - depends on whether orientation of image is portrait or landscape) click <OK>
Then: 5. From Menu Bar select: <File>, <Save As>, [select location to save image] For File Name: enter 2JoeBloggs_ScenicView.jpg For Format: select JPEG from list Click on <Save>
6. A window called "JPEG Options" will pop up, then Baseline ("Standard") Move fulcrum on slider, and watch number on extreme left in Size keeping that number below 220k Click <OK>
Copy images to Compact Disk or USB drive. Only have 3 competition entries on disk or drive - ie no folders, no other data
