Double gong for hard worker no joke LUCY Kristic was crowned St George's Employee of the Year for 2005 at the Club's annual presentation night in December.
Ms Kristic was rewarded for her consistent toil behind the scenes at the Leagues Club, where she organises function spreads as well as preparing salads and sandwiches.
"I wasn't told I was going to be employee of the Year until I went to the Christmas party," she told The Journal.
"I've never been to the Christmas party before and I wasn't going to go because I had to take my daughter to the airport."
The 51-year-old Club Attendant also had a dental procedure the day of the wards night and may have felt as though the laughing gas had not worn off.
"I received the two awards, outstanding employee and employee of the year," she gasped. "I was shocked - it was a definite shock, I did not expect it."
Ms Kristic still comes to work with the same enthusiasm she brought to the Club six years ago.
"She is reliable and responsible and has a great work ethic," Human Resources Manager Joni Deibert praised. "She is always willing to do extra, and she works to a high standard. "She is a valuable employee, and a great hospitality worker - friendly to everyone and she smiles!"
Ms Kristic loves to let her hair down on the dance floor or mix it up in the kitchen away from work. "I like to do a lot of shopping as well as dancing," she said. "I dance every few months, everything from Rock n Roll to the Tango.
"And in the kitchen my specialties are lasagna and cabbage roles."
