The 2005-2006 Season finished on a high note with some excellent performances in the pool. The Championship and Trophy Results for 2005-2006 are as follows: Winter 50m: Gordon Carr and Mark Slough; Summer 50m: Gordon Carr and Kerrie Hammell; 50m: Gordon Carr; 25m sprint: Arthur Mattingly: 100m championship: Justin Fitzsimmons; 200m championship: Karen Saad; Bill Burchmore Trophy (Swimmer of the Year): Justin Fitzsimmons; Jack Dowell Trophy: Kerrie Hammell; Russ Blatch Trophy: Corinne Madden; Ken Jenkins Trophy: Carol Cheadle; Reg White Trophy: Ian Langley; Bernie Hart Memorial Trophy (Clubman of the Year): Mark Madison.
Karen Saad recorded one of the best overall performances by winning the 200m Championship and eight 200m monthly point scores and ending the season with a final tally of 34 heat wins, the highest number of wins by any swimmer in 2005-2006. Other excellent performances included those of Gordon Carr, Kerrie Hammell and Mark Slough in the 50m Championship, Justin Fitzsimmons in the 100m Championship and the Bill Burchmore Trophy for Swimmer of the Year. Without exception, the performances of all six placegetters in each of the Championship and Trophy events were outstanding and every winner and place-getter is to be thoroughly congratulated. Mark Madison received a well-deserved Clubman of the Year Award and Carol Cheadle the most improved swimmer for 2005-2006. The Handicapper's Whinger's Award went to a delighted Lyn Langley and the Fox Award to an astonished Karen Saad, who thought at first that the trophy might frighten her children.
