A very busy time for the Club beginning on 2 June when we were host to the first round of the State Carnival with fifty six players participating.
Our red and white theme made the clubhouse spectacular thanks to our great workers on the day.
The Club Pairs winners on 24 June were B. Webb and M. Winkley with J. Bennett and A. Short as runners up.
In the District Singles we were represented by Anne Short, Margaret McEvoy, Marguerite Winkley and Jessie Balk, with two entries in the District Minor Singles, Rita Dobson and Margaret McEvoy.
After a very rainy week in July we were runners up in the District Triples competition with M. McEvoy, J. Bennett and A. Short, a great achievement for the Club as the team who beat us went on to reach the State Final - congratulations to Dawn Kelly, Kay Parnell and Lorraine York, whom we played against on 15 July.
Our AGM on 22 July saw some changes to the Club with Doreen Clift as President and Heather Tozer as Vice President.
Our Secretary and Treasurer were re-elected as were our Bowls Organiser and Selectors.
We were pleased to see three new Committee members, Pat Rieck, Jean Alewood and Thelma Lennon, and to help our Social Secretary Rose Nichols, Norma Williams was elected.
Best wishes to all these ladies for their tasks in the year ahead.
As it was a cold day we were glad to have a hot chicken and chips luncheon given to us by the Club.
The Club Triples are now finished with J. Balk, M. Winkley and H. Tozer the winners with B. Mackie, A. Short and C. Wood the runners up.
Only the Fours to be finalised and our Friendship Day on 23 September to come.
To our sick members we wish you a speedy recovery and hope that we see you back playing with us soon.
Perhaps you will be able to join the Club members on our outing to the Bellbird Resort on 25 November and help us fill our fifty seater coach.

The Selectors are on duty early.
