The 2003 Spring Pennant is now well under way. This season the Club has entered six teams in the various grades. We have two A5 teams and teams in A6, B4, C1 and D3. So we are still able to enter teams of all standards.
Many of them, however, have found the going a little tough so far, due to the Squash Association placing most of our sides in higher grades than what was actually applied for.
This, combined with some injuries and players having a break, has certainly made things much more difficult for the various teams to do well.
Still our A5 number 1 team has every chance of making the semi-finals while many of the other teams are within striking distance of the top teams if they can pick up in the second round and string together a few consecutive wins.
The monthly handicapped Round Robin is now well under way and at present the aggregate point score competition is being keenly contested between the leaders Peter Lupevski, Doug Macfarlane and Andrew Clarke.
Itís now up to the other players in the club to pick up their game and try and challenge these three.
At the present time we are starting to take down names and phone numbers of those interested in playing competition squash next year.
The Autumn 2004 Competition starts again next March.
Anyone interested in finding out more about joining the club should phone Peter Lupevski on 99528217 or on his Mobile 0408 462659.
Signing off for now.
All the best and good squashing.
