The past year will be remembered as a great one for the Old Time Dance Club, filled with new friendships and celebrations.
We welcomed visitors from Malta and South Africa.
New dancers and members are still enjoying their free lessons given half an hour before every Monday's social dance.
Albert and Nancy Oh continued to work very hard, teaching and combining extra new vogue, old time and sequence dances with great dance music for all to enjoy throughout the night.
The dance program is changed every week with many interesting dances which include the waltz, rumba, quickstep, tango, jive, mambo, samba and foxtrot.
Our life member, Percy Higgins, celebrated his 89th birthday in September.
In November, committee members, Beryl and Allan Bow celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary.
Elaine Mah generously donated $50 to our dance club for her 60th birthday and on that same night the Monte Carlo prize of $35 was won by one lucky couple.
Congratulations to the very excited, proud and first time grandparents, Albert & Nancy, on the birth of their granddaughter, Mia.
On Sunday, 16th December, 2007, 80 dancers, including committee members, enjoyed a great social night out, eating, and having fun, karaoke singing to celebrate Christmas.
The night was made extra special with the announcement and congratulations to Bill and Margaret Dark, who had wed the night before the dinner.
Over 150 people attended the last social dance of the year, dancing to the music of our regular 5 piece live band.
Many left the night happy with their wins in the raffle draw for the numerous Christmas Goodies.
Sandwiches with tea and coffee were provided for each and every dancer in lieu of cheese and biscuits.
The usual raffle for one of the five prizes of $15, was also included in the draws.
Again, one very lucky couple went home with $50 from the Monte Carlo.
We welcome and wish all, a very happy, healthy and fun year of dancing in 2008.
See you on the dance floor! On a sad note: our condolences to committee member, Tom Morgan, on the loss of his wife, Elaine, in September.
