SWIMMING
9 March 2004

Once again the Water Dragons Touring Team has been busy competing at a number of venues and in October 2003 the team including Jorn Jacobsen, Dave Walker, Julie Costello, Terry McLeod and John Post won the Sharks Shield at the Cronulla Leagues Club carnival.

A special mention must go to Lyn Langley, who after undergoing surgery earlier in the year swam at the carnival and was second in her race.

A good result Lyn and a good recovery.

Our Danish teammate, Jorn Jacobsen, competed in the 40-44 age group at the Masters National Titles held at the AIS in Canberra in October and won gold in the 50m breastroke, silver in the 200m freestyle and bronze in the 50m backstroke.

Congratulations to all members of the team on a fine effort.

The Combined Leagues Club Carnival in November was well contested by all clubs with the Dragons gaining first place in the overall point score.

First prize also went to Julie Costello and her lady assistants for providing a terrific meal afterwards.
